             youth

Our youth ministry partners with youth to belong and grow in faith and community.  We are accepting – we invite, welcome, and embrace all youth; committed – we are dedicated to Christ and our community; enthusiastic – we are passionate and energetic; and authentic – we are genuine about our strengths and weaknesses.

How do I connect with Roots Youth Ministry?

ROOTS
Sundays, 5:30-7:30p in the SYC

This is a time for growing in our faith and as a community. We start with a meal at 5:30 (provided by a parent or other church volunteer). After that, we play games and discuss Bible verses focused around a theme meant to encourage continued growth. We welcome all people and the questions they may have which can help us all to continue to grow!

PARENTING
We’re here for you.
This Youth Ministry is for more people than teenagers.  It’s for the parents of teenagers, too.  That’s why we’ve invested in several resources for parents.  If you’re in the Roots Facebook group, every now and then we will post articles for you to read, pamphlets that give you info about pop culture, and tips for ways to create conversations during dinner. Send an e-mail to Austin Miller (austinmiller@franklingrace.org) for more information.

ROOTS MEAL DONATIONS
We’re always looking for people to partner with us to supply food for Roots dinners. You can get together with a few friends and do a meal as a group, or you can donate money or food we can store in the kitchen — such as pasta, peanut butter, etc. Check our facebook page for updates on when meals are needed.
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
The time and energy volunteers give to the youth makes way more of an impact than anything else. It’s not very often that teenagers can connect with a caring adult who is interested in their lives on a personal level. Serving behind-the-scenes fosters those relationships between teenagers and an adult mentor. It also frees up the church staff to train people up, spend time with parents, and do all the administrative work required for the ministry to function.

If you're interested in serving, please email austinmiller@franklingrace.org. He would love to talk to you about potentially being involved and how you can contribute with your unique gifts.
