INTERCHURCH FOOD PANTRY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
The Interchurch Food Pantry of Johnson County is experiencing higher client numbers.  Your Grace UMC team volunteers on the first Saturday of each month from 8:30 until 11:00 am.  We are looking for a few additional volunteers to help with the increased client numbers.  If you would like more information or think you might be interested in joining us, please reach out to Peggy Kinsey at [email protected] or 812-890-3317.

SENIOR PROJECT COLLECTION
Grace church member, Emma Christoff, is currently collecting travel size bottles of Johnson's baby lotion and body wash, and small teddy bears to donate to the Birthing Center at Columbus Regional Hospital to complete her Senior Project at Franklin Community High School.  All donations must be new to ensure safety to the newborns.  If you are interested in helping Emma with this project, please bring your donations to they lobby and place in the basket for her collection.  If you have any questions, please contact Emma at (317) 412-0305.

GRACE MERCH AVAILABLE!
Grace Merch is available in the lobby! We have tshirts, sweatshirts, coffee mugs, tumblers, and glasses available to order and/or purchase. Additional items and designs will be added as needed. Watch for fun holiday items coming soon! All proceeds from merch sales are going to pay for catering the dinner for our bicentennial celebration. Once the dinner is paid for, we will announce where proceeds from the sales will go next.

Items such as Grace shirts, religious shirts, coffee mugs, tumblers, and glasses can be purchased as supplies last.  Choose your items, complete the “Grace Merch Purchase/Order Form”, and place the form along with payment in the black box on the top shelf of the display. We will replenish items as needed. If you see a shirt design you would like but you need a different size or would like a different color or style shirt, let Amber in the office know at [email protected].

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY BUILD 2025
Oct. 30, 8:30am-3:00pm
THANK YOU to those that have signed up to help build with Habitat for Humanity! We once again have the opportunity for a team from Grace to help with the 2025 Habitat for Humanity build. Our day to help this year is Oct. 30 from 8:30am-3:00pm.  This happens to be the final build day for this year so we will be helping with painting & installing quarter round, landscaping, appliance installation, finish any touch up painting throughout the house, general cleaning, and lot clean up.
If you are interested in being a volunteering, please sign up in the lobby.  All volunteers will need to complete a waiver online (information is on the sign up sheet).

UNITED WOMEN IN FAITH WHITE ELEPHANT BINGO
Nov. 1, 1:30pm-3:30pm, Price Hall
UWF are hosting a White Elephant Bingo event on Saturday, November 1 from 1:30p-3:30p. Ladies are invited to bring a White Elephant gift that is unwrapped and usable. The purpose of the event is to promote a creative and supportive time of fellowship. Snacks will be provided.

AN INVITATION TO THE WOMEN OF GRACE CHURCH
All women attending Grace UMC are invited to attend the unit meeting of the United Women of Faith on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. We will gather in the Fellowship Hall at Otterbein. Our own Pastor Ceceliah Igweta-Keega will share her faith journey. Officers will be installed during the business meeting, and the evening will conclude with a social time.

BLESSING BOX DONATIONS NEEDED
Our non-perishable food supply that we use to stock the Blessing Box at the library is running low on donations.  If you are able to donate to the Blessing Box, please place your donations in the brown Mission Cabinets just outside of Price Hall.  Non-perishable food items should be in plastic containers (no glass) and cans should have a pull tab lid. If you have any questions, please call the office at (317) 736-7962.

SOUP’S ON NEEDS YOUR HELP

We serve 100+ meals every Friday evening using a rotation of 4-5 teams per month. The meal is open to the public and helps to provide meals for many people in our community who are food insecure. The connection we foster is just as important as the food. Our teams consist of 7-10 people who, together, make for light work given the shared service.

We are always in need of new team members who can either serve on a monthly team or be available to sub when needed.
We are seeking a few head cooks: one cook to take on 1st Fridays and multiple cooks to be available to fill-in as needed and/or to work with our Funeral Dinner team for the few times a year we prepare a meal for grieving families from our church.

- If you like to serve and don’t feel comfortable cooking, we’d love to have you on the team helping to setup, cleanup, serve food or drinks, or bag boxed food for those who take meals to-go.
- If you love to cook and can work with a simple menu to prepare a meal (typically takes 4-5 hours) either once a month, every other month, quarterly, or on an as-needed basis, please let us know.

Contact Pastor Joe ([email protected]) to connect you with our team to discuss how you may best serve this wonderful ministry. Inquiring about serving does not commit you, friends, so please reach out to simply ask questions and consider the possibility of getting involved at the capacity to which you are comfortable and available.

Please pray for this continued ministry and the many blessed people who help make it happen. Pray for those who come to receive and be a part of the Soup’s On community each and every week.
