GRACE KITCHEN MINISTRIES
With the recent news that Nina Miller will be retiring from her kitchen work here at Grace, we are looking to assemble a team of people to oversee the kitchen ministry of Grace UMC. The thought is we assign a person to be the head overseer of the following kitchen ministries:
1. Soups On (reminding weekly teams, collect monthly menus from cooks, help recruit cooks if/when needs arise)
2. Funeral Dinners (we have a large list of people who are available to provide food)
3. Christmas Dinner (2024 is covered, so looking at 2025 and beyond)
4. Easter Sunrise breakfast (2025 and beyond)
5. Coffee Hour (which may be restructured in the near future)
We just need people willing to oversee. Overseeing doesn’t mean you are in the kitchen doing the legwork (unless you want to), but will work to assemble teams and communicate the details so things get done. The overseers will also work as a collective team to tackle the work together of communication, assembling crews of volunteers, and making the plans.
If you are an organized person who loves to serve the church and you have an interest in helping the Grace UMC Kitchen Ministries, please contact Pastor Joe (joesanford@franklingrace.org) or Pastor Jenothy (jenothyirvine@franklingrace.org).

FRONT PORCH MEETING
Saturday, April 27, 6:30pm, Sanctuary & Sunday, April 28, 10:15a, Price Hall
The process of becoming of a member at Grace UMC involves what we call “Doorway Class.” The Doorway Class gathers together people interested in becoming a full member of our church to walk through what it means to be a United Methodist and what it means to be a part of the ministries of Grace UMC. But before we can plan to get people through the door, we want to have a meeting on the front porch.
Our Front Porch meetings will be after Saturday’s service (4/27 at 6:30pm in the sanctuary) as well as between Sunday services (4/28 at 10:15am in Price Hall). If you are interested in more information, please join us.
During this meeting we will begin to learn who is interested as well as what process you will need. Are you already a United Methodist who wants to transfer membership? Are you a member of another denomination who wants to move membership into the denomination? Are you someone who has never been a member of any church? Are you someone who has never been baptized into the faith?
Once we learn who is interested and where they are in the process of membership with the faith and church we will decide together when and how to plan a Doorway Class that fits the needs of the group who plans to attend.
The Front Porch class will be a brief gathering to get information from interested potential members. It will also be a time for anyone to ask questions about the process of becoming a member. If you are interested in learning more, just come to the Front Porch meeting and we will happy to help in every way we can.
We are always excited to discuss membership with people because choosing to commit to a church body is a wonderful investment for everyone involved. Saying, “yes” to a congregation and hearing them say “yes” to you is a wonderful step in a faith journey. We are excited for the many spiritual gifts The Holy Spirit continues to gather around the people of Grace UMC and it is a joyful celebration to learn how Grace UMC continues to offer blessings to people looking for a church home.
If you have questions about this opportunity, feel free to reach out to Pastor Joe or Pastor Jenothy.
