YOUTH

Our youth ministry partners with youth to belong and grow in faith and community. We are accepting – we invite, welcome, and embrace all youth; committed – we are dedicated to Christ and our community; enthusiastic – we are passionate and energetic; and authentic – we are genuine about our strengths and weaknesses.

We are proud of our Youth Center with an entire floor dedicated to youth ministry. The space is geared for youth and young adults featuring pool table, ping-pong table, foosball tables, a cafe area, multiple classrooms, large gathering space, and outdoor basketball court.

SUNDAY SCHOOL

Sunday school class for 4th through 6th grade students meets upstairs in the SYC in the first classroom. They have been working through various Old and New Testament lessons in 2025 using the “Bible Basics” curriculum from Cokesbury.

7th through 12th grade students and their parents/grandparents are encouraged to attend the Adult Sunday School class taught by Bruce Roberts in the OARC. This particular class is an intergenerational opportunity where adults and students may attend class and engage in conversation while learning together.

YOUTH GROUP

“Roots Youth Group” is for students in 7th – 12th grade, and it’s exciting to report that it is thriving! New students have been coming as well as current students bringing friends.

During the school year, the Youth Group meets upstairs in the SYC from 5:30 to 7:30pm on Sunday evenings, with doors to the SYC opening at 5:15pm.

The general format is a shared meal, a time of games and fellowship, a time of Bible study, and then a craft or free time to play ping-pong, foosball, pool or other sporting activities. Students are often slow to leave, which means that they are engaged and having a great time!

Members of the congregation are encouraged to sign up to prepare and share a meal with Roots. It doesn't have to be fancy, our group enjoys spaghetti, chicken nuggets and french fries, hot dogs and chips, chili, and the ever popular... PIZZA! We do have several food allergies of which to be aware. Look for the sign up sheet in the Lobby.
